Goddess Hour - Class Descriptions

: The Goddess Hour Dance and Fitness Studio is proud to announce the creation of its Childrens' Dance and Music Programs!

One of the best ways to help young children develop self-confidence, self-expression, imagination, appreciation for art in its many forms, and personal discipline is a non-competitive approach to dance education. Goddess Hours' programs are designed to build these attributes along with strong dance technique from the earliest years of dance training through the pre-teen years.

We carefully select each member of our faculty to ensure that their knowledge, skills, and life experiences agree with our philosophy. By limiting class size, we can provide a low teacher-to-student ratio. We consider dance to be an art form, not a competition... At the end of each session, instead of a high-pressure recital, your child will enjoy an informal showcase performance highlighting overall progress and achievement.

: Our imaginative series of classes introduce the fundamentals of dance while nurturing a child’s agility and musicality. Students learn to follow the teacher’s instructions while working in a challenging but supportive environment and interacting with their peers. Classes for Muses and Zephyrs begin with a gentle warm-up and stretch and introduce jazz, ballet and tap movements. By using games, props, toys and rhythm instruments, the class offers creative ways to challenge the child both mentally and physically.; Graces (ages 7-11) is a more structured series of classes that continue to aid the development of the child’s physical coordination and musicality. Our teen classes (Sirens) will transition to age-appropriate exercises and are introduced to dances from around the world including Eyptian, West African, Latin, Hula, Tahitian, Turkish Gypsy Rom, Pharonic, Contra, Breakdancing, Flamenco, Indian and more.

Registration: Upon registration, a spaced is reserved for your child for the month. Pre-registration is required. The registration fee is reduced by $5 for each subsequent sibling enrolled and will be refunded in the studio on the first day of class.


Make-up classes: Lessons missed may be made up in an alternate class of the same or lower level in which the student is enrolled. No monetary refunds are made for missed classes.
Dress Code - Muses and Graces: Girls: Black or pink leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Black tap shoes.
Boys: White t-shirt, black shorts or pants and black ballet slippers and black tap shoes.

Musikgarten Music Class (8-week session, all levels, $80.00 + $25.00 materials fee)

Musikgarten is a curriculum-based music program that allows children the opportunity to expand their horizons through moving, singing, instrument playing, story telling, poetry, and a variety of other mediums. The Musikgarten Program is the key that opens the door to your child's world of music. Through a combination of songs, playing movement games and instruments, listening and learning, you and your child are exposed to a wonderful musical experience. We offer the following classes for children and their caregivers:; Play musically with your child through bouncing and rocking songs, wiggle and peek-a-boo games, dancing, moving, and singing. Classes are designed to increase your child's curiosity about music, to develop listening skills and a sense of beat, and to establish the foundation for singing and musical thought.

Thursday 9:45am-10:30am

Musikgarten for Toddlers (3- and 4-Year-Olds): Classes are designed to build attention and self-expression and include singing, focused listening, musical games, exploring instruments, creative movement, and storytelling. Songs and activities focus on the changing seasons.
